Thank you for taking the time to look through my portfolio. I’ve been working in the design industry following my graduation from The Modern College of Art & Design in 2016, but I’ve enjoyed art and doodling long before then. I’m skilled in UX/UI, responsive web design, graphic design and continue to dabble in motion design. I’m always open to chat about new opportunities.
Pure Spectrum is a CBD company located in Evergreen, Colorado that came to The Shipyard in need of a brand refresh. With our help, we were able to update their brand identity to give them a more competitive edge in the CBD market.
My main task was concepting and designing the new website for Pure Spectrum. After researching other CBD companies and experimenting with a couple different homepage designs, I moved forward with a single theme and built out all the supporting pages along with it.
During my tenure with The Shipyard, an ongoing project of mine was updating the official website for the company. The Shipyard was trying to build their presence in the industry and better explain what the company actually did as a whole.
Initially there was a soft launch of the website that included an updated homepage and some supporting pages, in an attempt to reimagine the brand. From there, I took those pages and expanded on them further. This meant adding new content such as case studies, work pages, community involvement and a blog to share the companies thoughts. Many of the pages were built in a templated format, so further updates could be produced more efficiently.
One of my last projects with The Shipyard involved creating website templates for libraries. It was scoped that a number of templated pages would be created, that could then be used by a library to update and organize their current site with.
The beginning of the project consisted of researching numerous current library websites, in an attempt to see how content was structured and displayed today. The challenging part was coming up with a more efficient way to structure this content, that could be used universally between libraries. After many rounds of revision, the final theme produced was easily customizable so that a library could seamlessly transition from their old site to something new.

Sushi Restaurant Website
Before my time with R&L Carriers came to a close, I worked on a concept project for the redesign of a sushi restaurant. R&L owns several small companies along with the main trucking business, and this restaurant was one of those smaller businesses.
For this project, I created a single theme that went across three pages. The restaurant in question wanted to experiment with a more modern look and feel, in comparison to what they had. When creating these pages, I referenced other restaurants in the industry to see how they organized content in an understandable and clean fashion.

A Modern Eden Website
A Modern Eden is a brand created by designers, that care about the products that go into a child’s room. Within this brand, animal illustrations were created and then used on kid friendly products such as wall decor, tote bags, pillows and more.
In 2016 following my graduation from college, I went to work with the web company Sparkbox. They had just rolled out a new Frontend Designer Apprenticeship program, that another designer and I had been accepted to. My final project during this apprenticeship was creating a one-page site for the A Modern Eden brand. Our only guideline was the single page limit, so we had total creative freedom in what we built. This project didn’t end after design however, because we were also tasked with developing the site. It was a great experience to learn how closely design and development work together in this industry.

The Shipyard Logo Animations
Along with releasing a new website, The Shipyard also made changes to their logo. An internal project that came along with this update, was experimenting with animation.
I was tasked with taking the new logo and adding some movement to it. This project started with storyboarding how the logo would come apart and appear on screen, and then moved to actually animating it on screen. I ended up with three potential versions, that could be used alongside the new Shipyard branding.

Co-Op Holiday E-Card
CO-OP Financial Services is an interbank network that connects credit unions. As a client of The Shipyard, they came to us asking for help on a holiday e-card.
I had the opportunity to work on this project before the holiday season last year. The client had already come up with some concepts for us to work with, so I only had to decide on a direction to move in. Afterwards, I created the final motion project that CO-OP could then send out to their clients and employees as needed.

Yaskawa Holiday E-Card
Yaskawa Motoman is a robotics company that produces robots and fully-integrated robotic systems for numberouse industries. As part of my college education, I had the opportunity to extern with this company for a single month before graduation.
While working for Yaskawa I had the chance to work on a number of both print and digital projects. One in particular was a holiday greetings e-card from the company to its clients and employees. The concept behind the e-card was developed in-house, and then I followed up with several storyboards to capture the idea on paper. I then animated the final product, which was later sent out via email or newsletter during the holiday season.

Bee the Swarm Promo
Bee the Swarm was a start-up company that I worked for during my last year of college. They were trying to create mobile games that would ultimately help fund charity campaigns all across the globe.
While both working and going through my portfolio semester in college, I combined both worlds and worked on a project that benefited both. The project was an animated promotional video that could be used in my portfolio, but also to help spread the word about what Bee the Swarm was trying to do as a company. Like so many other motion projects, I started with the concept and storyboard that eventually led to my final animation.
